Grand Central Bakery is now accepting applications for a full-time Bread Baker at our York St. wholesale production facility in beautiful Portland, Oregon.

We are looking for artisan bakers who are passionate about making delicious, high quality bread, in a state-of-the-art facility.

Location: This position is located at our York St. production facility in Portland, OR. 

Rate of Pay: This position pays $15.35 - $16.31 per hour. 

Schedule: Full-time, days.The Schedule flexibility and ability to work weekends is required.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Mixing, dividing, forming, proofing, and baking Grand Central's renowned rustic breads, pan loaves, snack breads and rolls
  • Maintaining accurate bread counts
  • Recording accounts of mix times and dough temperatures
  • Understanding and cross-training on all equipment on the bakery floor
  • Culling unusable loaves and reporting amounts to the Delivery Coordinator

Skills and Experience:

  • Ability and readiness to stand for eight-hour shifts and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • 2+ years working in a bakery
  • Current food handlers card
  • Experience with manual and automatic loaders, rack and hearth ovens
